FUNDING & SUPPORT

We collaborate with the community to facilitate grant applications

through carefully selected funding agencies. We are dedicated to supporting services, initiatives, and events that contribute to the overall well-being of individuals in our community. By providing this assistance, advice and guidance to those that want to develop local initiatives, we can collectively gain funding to make a positive impact. Funds successfully sourced go directly to the applicants in all cases.

3 GRANT TYPES

The Application Process depends on the level of funding required.

RUBRA GRANTS are for proposals between $4,000 and $10,000 and can be part of a larger proposal, at a later date.

SCHIST GRANTS are for proposals over $10,000 and should relate to the funding required for one year from the submission date.

KOWHAI GRANTS are for projects that have secured previous funding with the help of the  CONNECT TRUST and now require additional resourcing through a funding agency.

OUR PRIORITY AREAS

3 main areas the Trust focuses on.

HEALTH & WELLBEING is at the forefront of our focus for the community and underpins our endeavors. Supporting Projects that recognise the greatest good for the greatest number of health outcomes will help us all achieve the Trusts goals of Community Resilience.

ENVIRONMENTAL WELLBEING is vital for individuals to thrive. Our focus in this area includes support for wider wellbeing considerations like water, space, pollution,  beautification, travel etc.

WELLBEING SELF-HELP is a Trust focus encouraging proposals that will facilitate individual growth initiatives through self-development and new learning.

Over time, we expect that the TRUST Priorities are likely to evolve as Community needs change, however these three areas of focus encompass our priorities for the near future.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@strathtaiericonnect.org.nz if you cannot find an answer to your question.

No, the Trust only supports the applications for funding.  All funds go directly to the applicants we work with.

Commercial initiatives with a "profit" motivation primarily.

Illegal and unlawful practices/initiatives and endeavors.

Projects outside our stated Strath Taieri catchment.

Although it depends on the application, most processes take 3 to 6 months to realise a transfer of funds.

This is due to the time-lines for some funding providers that can delay the decision significantly.

This is also why we require applicants to register a PROFILE as soon as possible, as  there is some pre-planning that can shorten timelines, if we know about your forthcoming PROPOSAL early.

Different funding providers require varying reporting frequencies, but in most cases, monthly progress reports and a more detailed final report is required at the end of the funding period.
