COMMUNITY HIRE: BBQ Trailer

Only people residing in the Strath Taieri and close surrounding catchments (Hyde, Macraes, Clarks Junction, Lee Steam etc) can hire this BBQ unit.

The BBQ trailer features a robust framework made from 304 Grade Stainless steel box sections, covered with 1.5mm thick stainless sheet metal, resulting in a strong and watertight unit. The springs, hubs, jockey wheel, and axle are hot-dip galvanized.

It offers ample prep surfaces and storage, including a storage unit above the BBQs (2200mm x 400mm x 300mm) with two sliding doors and a central partition. There's additional storage underneath the BBQs (2200mm x 850mm x 330mm) with doors for easy access. Three large prep surfaces fold down: two on the sides (2000mm x 300mm and 2200mm x 300mm) and one at the back (900mm x 850mm).

All doors are lockable and held open with gas struts (550N-750N). The trailer accommodates two 9Kg LPG gas bottles in ventilated compartments and two 120L cooler bins with insulated double-walled stainless steel and polystyrene.

Dimensions: 3700cm length, 1800cm width, 2100cm height. Weight: 650kg unbraked. Ensure your vehicle can tow this weight.

2 to 5 days - Standard charge of $50. 

5 days plus - Rate to be negotiated.

Hirer to provide the following: x 2 gas bottles, first aid kit, cooking utensils, aprons and cleaning equipment.

• Do not use the trailer in high wind conditions, be careful of the gas strut doors. 
• Trailer must be returned by the agreed upon date and it must be returned in the same condition it was collected in (inside cleaned, all surfaces and walls cleaned, outside cleaned free of dust and dirt, BBQ cleaned, including the drip tray free of any grease and all rubbish removed. This will be checked upon return. 
• If the returned trailer is not up to an acceptable standard an additional $150 cleaning fee will be imposed. 

The STCCT will ensure the following:

• The BBQ will be clean ready for use with the battery fully charged for the lights.
• One fire extinguisher and fire blanket will be accessible in the front storage compartment.
• One repair tyre emergency foam bottle accessible in the front storage compartment.
• X2 wheel chocks accessible in the front storage compartment. 

Any damage reported to STCCT and repaired or arrangements made for repair, refer to insurance below.

 Insurance Policy:

• The BBQ Trailer is insured through FMG - however when hired out the excess is as described below:

Imposed Terms:  

Non-standard policy condition

While this vehicle is hired or loaded out, this policy is amended as follows:

• The “What we will pay” limit for section 2 - Liability is reduced to $500,000 inclusive of legal defence costs for any one Event.
• The “Vehicle out on hire” general exclusion is deleted; and
• An additional excess of $2,000 shall apply to each and every claim.
• In the event of any damage or theft the hirer will be responsible for paying the excess for any insurance claim. 
• If the cost of the repair is less than the excess the hirer will be responsible for the full cost of the repair.

The trailer will be fitted with an anti-theft device (padlock lock on tow hitch.) However please note the terms below:

• Towed Vehicle Additional Excess 

In the event of the Trailer being stolen an additional $1,000 excess will apply if there is no visible sign of violent and forcible entry into the place of storage or if the Trailer is not fitted with a recognised anti-theft device. 

Theft of any contents stored in the Trailer is the responsibility of the Hirer and not covered by the FMG policy. 

In the event of a claim the hirer is responsible for payment of the excess, and FMG can clawback from the hirer the full value of the claim. The hirer can use their own insurance to claim.
